Photographs By Rev. Dr. Kathy Nelson At Plainsboro Library Gallery

Plainsboro Public Library – September-October 2016

The Plainsboro Library Gallery is pleased to present a collection of photographs by the Reverend Dr. Kathy J. Nelson, of Plainsboro, NJ. “Our Diverse World and Its People” is comprised of large format photographs taken by the artist during her travels on behalf of the F.I.S.H. Foundation, Inc., a global charitable foundation. Spanning Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Chile, this collection highlights the diversity as well as the commonalities of the people in our many cultures. Dr. Nelson’s keen photographer’s eye captures the nature, wildlife, and architecture of these varied locales. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2 – 4 pm, and the artist will be on hand to give a short gallery tour and discuss her photographs.

Dr. Nelson is President of the Plainsboro-based F.I.S.H. (Funding Individual Spiritual Health) Foundation, Inc., which develops grants and distributes the funding to various recipients – within the US and around the world – to meet medical, educational, and spiritually enriching needs. She is a Presbyterian Church (USA) pastor, with a doctorate of ministry degree in the area of spirituality from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ. While there, she also received a Th.M. and an M. Div. degree. Her undergraduate degree is in History and Political Science, and Religion and Philosophy from Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND. She has served congregations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for more than 25 years, prior to accepting this call in 2007.
